THE POSITION
Are you inspired to guide a team that delivers important mental health services as a Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections with the Department of Corrections? This role gives you the chance to support staff at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Pine Grove who help inmates manage challenges and build healthier lives. You will shape programs that strengthen well-being inside the institution. Your leadership will help maintain a stable and supportive environment.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role manages psychological services and supports the programs that help inmates with mental health needs. You will guide staff, oversee treatment plans, and ensure that services meet professional standards. As a Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections, you will perform the following duties:

Staff Oversight:Supervise psychological staff, review their evaluations, and guide their use of diagnostic tools and counseling methods

Program Management:Develop policies, coordinate counseling programs, and assist with research for psychological services

Committee Leadership:Lead facility committees that review inmate needs, clinical concerns, and critical incidents

Clinical Standards:Set competencies for staff, evaluate psychological measures, and provide updates to medical profiles

Report Review:Assess test interpretations and prepare diagnostic or progress reports for mental and behavioral management

Professional Consultation:Advise staff on treatment issues, support special units, and hold meetings to review inmates and their plans

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
-
One year as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or
-
One year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities or behavioral dysfunction.
Special Requirement:
- You must be in possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board. Applicants with out-of-state licensure must obtain Pennsylvania licensure within one year of employment.

Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
