Location: San Jose, CA 95116

Job Type: 13-Week Contract

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 Hours per Week

Start Date: August 10, 2026

Pay Rate: $27/hour (Local Candidates)

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant for a 13-week contract assignment at McKee Clinic, a busy primary and specialty care practice in San Jose, California. This opportunity is with a growing, physician-driven healthcare organization affiliated with El Camino Health Medical Network, providing high-quality outpatient care throughout Santa Clara County.

The ideal candidate will have strong back-office Medical Assistant experience, be dependable, professional, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide back-office Medical Assistant support in a primary and specialty care setting

  • Room patients and obtain vital signs

  • Assist providers with patient care and clinical procedures

  • Prepare examination rooms and maintain clinical supplies

  • Document patient information accurately

  • Support workflow and patient throughput throughout the clinic

  • Follow all clinic policies, procedures, and infection control standards

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of Medical Assistant experience required

  • Strong back-office clinical experience required

  • Experience working in a primary care and/or specialty clinic preferred

  • Excellent communication and patient service skills

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team

Assignment Details

  • 13-week contract

  • Monday–Friday schedule

  • 40 hours per week

  • Clinic setting: Primary and Specialty Care

  • Orientation provided on the first day

  • First-day instructions will be sent prior to the start date

  • Timekeeping system: MaxView Timeclock

Interview Process

About the Organization

This position is with a growing multi-specialty healthcare provider affiliated with El Camino Health Medical Network. The organization delivers patient-centered, technology-enabled care through a network of outpatient clinics offering primary care, specialty care, gynecology, neurology, oncology, urgent care, and additional healthcare services throughout Santa Clara County.

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Medical Assistant responsible for performing duties under the direction of a physician to assist in the examination and treatment of patients.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or its equivalent

  • Good telephone communication skills

  • Knowledge of medical terminology

  • Knowledge of medical procedures

  • Knowledge of clerical functions

  • Current CPR card (if applicable)

  • Current PPD or Chest X-Ray (if applicable)

  • Current Health Certificate (if applicable)

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program; certification preferred

  • Minimum of one year relevant experience preferred.

  • Relevant certification/ license if applicable.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
