Job Title: Construction Superintendent

Job Description

We are seeking a Construction Superintendent to oversee multiple commercial interior construction projects across Long Island. This role involves managing field operations, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within scope. Projects primarily consist of retail and medical fit-outs, including interior demolition, MEP coordination, framing, drywall, and HVAC installation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day field operations across multiple concurrent projects.

  • Manage subcontractors, schedules, and site logistics.

  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards.

  • Conduct and document daily field reports using project software (Autodesk).

  • Coordinate inspections and ensure all critical milestones and inspection points are met.

  • Proactively identify and solve field-related issues to maintain schedule.

  • Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and internal teams.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site.

  • Support scheduling adjustments, including occasional night work if required.

Essential Skills

  • 2–5+ years of construction experience.

  • Experience managing commercial interior/fit-out projects preferred.

  • Strong understanding of MEP systems, interior construction sequencing, and inspection processes.

  • Proven ability to problem-solve in the field and manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

  • Familiarity with construction management software, preferably Autodesk.

  • Willingness to travel between job sites in Long Island.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • General construction knowledge.

  • OSHA 30 certification.

  • Ability to provide 2 professional references and a full job list and specifications.

Work Environment

This is a traveling role throughout Long Island as the office is located in Hartford. The work involves traveling between job sites across Long Island. The team culture is highly collaborative, with opportunities to work on diverse projects such as IVF infusion centers, Insomnia Cookies, and Quest Diagnostics. If taken permanent, there is a generous match on 401k.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Babylon, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
