This position is responsible for the maintenance and development of applications on the iSeries platform, with significant involvement in supporting major third-party vendor solutions. The role primarily utilizes COBOL to support ASI applications on the iSeries. The ideal candidate will be highly self-directed, demonstrating strong knowledge and experience in software design, development, and testing methodologies. The ability to research, analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues is essential. A willingness to support existing system implementations and participate in on-call responsibilities is required. The developer will work on both small-scale and strategic projects, alongside other support and development assignments.

Skills and Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of relevant software development experience

Strong experience developing on the IBM iSeries platform using COBOL

Experience with ASI applications required

Proficient database skills relevant to application development (SQL)

Experience working within Agile development teams and familiarity with all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, system analysis, and quality assurance

Strong knowledge of software design patterns and automated unit testing techniques.

Experience with other programming languages and a willingness to learn in house development tools.

Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills (written/verbal)

Ability to work independently and lead design and technology projects within a team environment

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related discipline required
