We are expanding with a new, one-million-square-foot, 15-floor, state-of-the-art facility on Cleveland Clinic Main Campus designed to elevate care for complex neurological conditions — including spine injuries, epileptic seizures, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis and stroke.
This advanced building brings every stage of care under one roof, featuring dedicated spaces for outpatient services, surgery, stepdown, ICU and epilepsy monitoring, as well as additional operating rooms and expanded ambulatory, infusion, imaging, EMG, sleep and rehabilitation services. We are welcoming new caregivers to collaborate within our multidisciplinary teams and contribute to nationally recognized, innovative neurological care. When we do everything in service of our patients and caregivers, no detail gets ignored. On our facilities team, your job will be to create a comfortable and safe environment — just like our patients have come to expect. You’ll gain experience working on a wide range of projects and HVAC systems throughout our facilities, train with the newest technology and receive guidance from fellow caregivers and management.
A caregiver in this position works evenings 2:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. with 3-4 weekend on-call requirements per year and one holiday.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Regularly inspect, diagnose, repair and perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration and HVAC systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration/air conditioning systems and other equipment, such as refrigerators, freezers, walk-in coolers, medical and process chillers, cooling equipment, cryogenic freezers and rooftop heating/cooling units.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic controls, solid state microprocessors and system alarms.
- Repair refrigerant leaks and evacuate and adjust refrigerant charges.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- High school diploma or GED
- State of Ohio EPA approved certificate for either Type I and Type II or Universal Refrigerant Systems Service
- Three years of experience as a commercial/residential air conditioning refrigeration technician. Military experience as a Machinists Mate, Utilities man, Utilities Equipment Repairer or a similar role will be considered
- Formal vocational classroom study in refrigeration, air conditioning and/or air handling may substitute up to 1 year of experience
- Ability to read electric schematic diagrams
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Completion of a formal HVAC/Refrigeration training program
- Work experience in a hospital setting
Physical Requirements:

- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
- Ability to move/transport items weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)

- Ability to inspect equipment
- Ability to install, repair and maintain systems, equipment, fixtures and/or structures
- Ability to distinguish color
- Ability to climb ladders
