Job Duties
Purchasing groceries and supplies
Ensuring the preparation of nutritious meals and snacks
Supervising the cooks and dietary aides in order to provide nutritional meals and snacks in a pleasant
environment
Meeting the dining needs and desires of the residents
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Education Required
Serve Safe Manager Certificate required.
CFPM Certificate required
Minimum Experience Required
Serve Safe Manager Certificate required.
CFPM Certificate required
Must have a passion for working with seniors and providing excellent care and customer service.
Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, and problem-solving skills.
A minimum of two years' previous experience as a cook in an institutional setting; nursing home or assisted living facility preferred, with some supervisory experience is preferred, but not required.
Understand and exhibit infection control procedures, including proper hand-washing techniques.
Know and adhere to OSHA safety regulations and ensure all persons in kitchen/dining room follow correct procedures.
Knowledge of food service operations and of safety precautions in serving food to others in a clean, healthy environment
Selected candidate must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position and will be subject to a DHS and criminal background study.
