As a Supervisor in Patient Access at MercyOne, you will Frontline, department-based role that supervises daily functions of assigned area(s). Provides clear direction & manages / advances people, processes, structures & / or programs that support direct / indirect care. Demonstrates behaviors in alignment with culture & creates / supports comprehensive strategies & measures progress to achieve desired outcomes.

Responsible for the daily operations & the oversight of staff.

Supervisors work in collaboration with department managers to manage staff &departmenteffectively.

Mayparticipate& recommend inthe hiring & selection process.

Responds promptly & directly to meet or exceed customers’ needs.

Coordinates staff scheduling &assignment. Reviews & approves administrative functions (time, payroll, expense).Stewardsproductive use of resources (e.g., people, financial, equipment, supplies, materials) to achieve assigned commitments, experiences & quality standards.

Supervisor, Pre-service

Ensures adequate controls aremaintainedover cash collections & that payments are properly handled by hospital policy & are accurately recorded & promptlyforwardedto the Cashiers Office

Coordinatesinvestigation & appropriate resolutionof problems from patient/family or staff complaints.
-
Resolves patient questionsregardingpayment requirements/charges referred by scheduling &verificationteam colleagues.
Supervisor, Patient Access
-
Maintains &demonstratesknowledge to successfully supervise each functional area of the hospital including, but not limited to all outpatient registration points, emergency room registration, admissions, bed assignment & financial counseling.
-
Regularlymonitorsthe patient tracking system, registrationreports& financialclearance activities to ensure patients are registered within key performance standards.
-
Monitors all financial clearance activity ensuring all accounts are verified at time of service & meet medical necessity requirements.
-
Coordinatesinvestigation & appropriate resolutionof problems from patient/family or staff complaints.
-
Resolvespatient questionsregardingpayment requirements/charges referred by the registrars.
-
Provides operational guidance & support to assignedteam,disseminatespolicy/procedure updates, supportscoverage of other departmental divisions asrequired.
Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent.
-
Two (2) to three (3)years experienceworking in a Pre-service or Patient Access operations with supervisory or lead responsibilities.

ObtainNational certification in HFMA CRCR, NAHAM CHAA & / or NAHAM CHAMrequiredwithin one (1) year of hire.
