Position Summary
Hunterdon Medical Center’s state-of-the-art Level II NICU is staffed with Physicians and Nurses specializing in the care of pediatric patients and hospitalized newborns born as early as 32 weeks. These providers do not have an outpatient office – allowing them to dedicate their time and resources to providing excellent hospital based care. Inpatient care is provided for patients of Hunterdon Pediatric Associates and many family practices affiliated with Hunterdon Medical Center. Hunterdon offers a competitive benefits package and time and funds for continuing education.
Primary Position Responsibilities

Managing babies with CPAP and ventilation support

Provide educational support to Family Practice Residents

Provide family centered care
-
Attend deliveries in case of immediate care needs

24 hour shifts to provide on call support in 6 bed level II NICU

Respond to emergencies in Hunterdon Medical Center’s Emergency Department as requested by ED Physicians

Maintain regular communication with outpatient Pediatrician or Family Physician
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Required:
Doctoral Degree in Medicine with active board certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics
Preferred:
Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Certification

Eligible for New Jersey state licensure as a physician. Credentialing & malpractice insurance through Medical staff office. Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatrics. Neonatal Advanced Life Support Certified.

Current competency in caring for hospitalized pediatric patients and Intermediate special care nursery patients.
