Works in a team environment to efficiently promote a positive experience in all aspects of patient care with compassion and kindness. Works in collaboration with Podiatry providers to develop and adapt individualized treatment plans to provide quality foot care services. Conduct assessments and screenings and provides education and health promotion to patients regarding advanced foot care, footwear, and general health maintenance of feet.

Schedule: This position will travel to different clinics depending on the day of the week. Location of clinics include Nampa, Caldwell, & Fruitland. *Clinics are open M-F, 8-5. ***NOW Eligible for a new SIGN ON BONUS!!!!

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

  • Must have an RN license in the state of Idaho issued prior to hire date.

  • All colleagues must provide licensure or proof of application in process for an Oregon RN license within 6 months of the hire date.

  • Certification as a WOCN or CFCS (certified foot care specialist) (BSN required) required or eligible for certification within six months of hire.

  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.

  • Valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Meets health system’s Guiding Behaviors and Caring Standards including interpersonal communication and professional conduct expectations.

  • Obtain health history.

  • Perform focused lower extremity assessments.

  • Describe and identify safe techniques for cutting nails, debridement of nails and hyperkeratotic tissue (callous, corns), blister care.

  • Identify proper, safe use of nail clippers, curettes, rasp or file and manual sanding files.

  • Prepares and or obtains cultures and pathology specimens.

  • Use of testing modalities Monofilament, tuning fork and doppler.

  • Describe appropriate sterilization / disinfection protocols per IFU instructions and prevention of cross contamination.

  • Understand and describe potential chronic conditions of diabetes.

  • Provide routine and preventive medical foot care education.

  • Ensure follow-up treatment based on needs if individual patients.

  • Provide backup clinic nurse services as needed.

  • Assists provider with diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, assuring in safe, clean, competent manner/environment. Assists with patient assessment in coordination with a licensed provider.

  • Maintains a clean, safe, well-stocked nursing area, including patient exam room.

  • Maintains a complete, accurate, and legible patient medical record.

  • Obtains continuing education to maintain clinical expertise and RN clinical ladder.

  • Prepares, administers, and evaluates the effectiveness of medications.

  • Provides clinical triage/communication as defined by protocol or per provider instructions.

  • Assists provider with examinations and treatments.

  • Administers oral, rectal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular, and Z-Track medications. Intravenous medications after I.V. course. Allergens administered only under the direction of a provider.

  • Documents patient care observations and activities according to professional standards.

  • Assists or leads in emergency situations.

  • Maintains a clean, well-stocked patient care area, observing aseptic techniques and other regulatory mandates, i.e., OSHA, CLIA, etc.

  • Maintains confidentiality regarding patient and business functions of the organization, i.e., HIPPA.

  • Routes billing information as appropriate.
