Principal Cyber Security Engineer

Highly skilled Principal Cyber Security Engineer with expertise in reverse engineering and cybersecurity product development is needed for our Monmouth County, NJ based client. This senior-level position requires deep technical knowledge and advanced problem-solving skills. If you have developed cyber security products for a software company, have strong computer science and programming skills, knowledge of reverse engineering ransomware, an understanding of low-level OS, and are looking for an outstanding opportunity, please contact us. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform reverse engineering of ransomware, malware, exploits, and other cybersecurity threats.

  • Analyze and deconstruct binary files (executables, DLLs, etc.) to identify their purpose, functionality, and vulnerabilities.

  • Develop and implement cybersecurity solutions based on reverse engineering findings.

  • Collaborate on creating advanced ransomware protection products leveraging Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

  • Stay ahead of emerging cyber threats and adapt strategies to counteract them effectively.

  • Produce detailed technical documentation and reports on findings and processes.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in the US and Asia, ensuring seamless coordination and knowledge sharing. Required Skills and Experience:

• Reverse Engineering Proficiency: Ability to dissect ransomware, analyze binaries (executables, DLLs), and provide actionable insights.

• Understanding of Low-Level OS Internals: Expertise in computer architecture, assembly language, and operating system fundamentals.

• Strong Computer Science Foundations: Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, and operating system fundamentals.

• Software Development Expertise: Proven experience in C and Python, with a focus on low-level programming and reverse engineering.

• Cybersecurity Product Experience: Previous work in developing cutting-edge cybersecurity products in a software company.

• Analytical Skills: Ability to dissect and analyze software, uncover vulnerabilities, and recommend security measures.

• Collaborative Mindset: Capable of working effectively within a team in a matrixed organization across different time zones.

• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting findings and collaborating with diverse teams. Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in exploit development and vulnerability research.

  • Familiarity with modern attack vectors and defense mechanisms.

  • Hands-on experience with tools like SVN, Git, Jira, and Confluence.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (advanced degree preferred).
