Job Title: Distribution Design Engineering IJob Description

This role involves planning, engineering, and designing electric and gas distribution systems. It requires determining the need, size, location, and timing of power delivery infrastructure development, balancing various constraints and reliability needs. Duties include developing work packages for overhead and underground residential distribution, field engineering, and conducting post-construction reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and design electric and gas distribution systems.

  • Develop work packages for overhead and underground residential distribution.

  • Perform field engineering, including project requirements identification and conflict resolution with utilities.

  • Conduct engineering and design calculations.

  • Perform post-construction reviews.

  • Solve routine technical problems following established procedures.

  • Communicate with peers to explain facts and basic analysis related to the area.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering preferred).

  • 0-2 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree.

  • Experience in using CAD tools such as AutoCAD and Microstation.

  • Basic knowledge of power delivery systems and technical principles.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associates Degree considered with 1-3 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience working with an electric utility or consulting company.

  • Comfortable in both field and office settings.

  • Ability to lift 20 pounds and walk up to 2 miles on unpaved surfaces.

  • Reliable transportation required.

  • Driver's license.

Work Environment

The role involves working 70% of the time from home and 30% in the field within the assigned territory in Michigan. The candidate must be comfortable working in both field and office settings.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Adrian, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $29.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
