Special Education Teacher – BASE Behavior Classroom – Aubrey, TX

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a school-based opportunity in Aubrey, TX for the 2026-2027 school year.

Position Details

  • Location: Aubrey, TX

  • Start Date: August 10, 2026

  • Duration: 40 Weeks

  • Schedule: 37.5 Hours Per Week

Assignment Overview

The district anticipates placing this position within an elementary behavior support classroom , working with students who require additional behavioral, academic, and social-emotional support. The teacher will provide specialized instruction, implement behavior strategies, and work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support student growth and success.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement IEPs

  • Provide specialized instruction in a self-contained classroom

  • Implement behavior intervention strategies and classroom supports

  • Monitor and document student progress

  • Collaborate with families, related service providers, and school staff

  • Participate in ARD/IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team planning

  • Support students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development

Qualifications

  • Active Texas Special Education Certification required

  • Experience in behavior classrooms, self-contained programs, or specialized support settings preferred

  • Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills

  • Additional content certifications are a plus

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Interview Process

  • Virtual interview with the Campus Principal and district leadership

  • Interviews expected to begin in Early to Mid July

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred

  • Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations

  • Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred

  • State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred

  • State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred

  • State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred

  • Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

  • Current CPR if applicable

  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
