Responsibilities:
-
In accordance with MSHA and Company standards, take a proactive role in prioritizing safety on the job for yourself and others.

Operate off road heavy equipment including haul trucks, loaders, excavators, dozers, to mine and move material and maintain haul roads
-
Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs as needed to ensure equipment is in good working condition. Complete reports/documentation as required.

Monitor the plant and operations and report any unsafe behaviors, unsafe conditions, necessary maintenance, etc.

Coordinate with other team members to ensure smooth operations and project timelines

Other duties as assigned

Required Experience:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-
Experience operating heavy construction/mining equipment - 1-2 years
-
Experience operating a haul truck or loader is required - 1 - 2 years
-
Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on production need.

Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic mechanical maintenance on excavator, other heavy equipment
-
Strong attention to detail and safety protocols
-
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with other team members.

Ability to work in physically demanding environments and in various weather conditions.
Physical Requirements:
-
Work up to 12 hour shift
-
Will climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, equipment, stairs, ladders, etc.

Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
-
Must be able to comply will all safety standards and procedures
-
May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
-
May stoop, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis
-
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) (including but not limited to hard hat, steel toed boots, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.)

Move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas
-
