About the Role Join the dynamic team at SONIC Drive-In on Veterans Memorial Blvd in Metairie, LA, as a Carhop Team Member. In this exciting role, you will be the friendly face delivering delicious food and beverages directly to our guests’ vehicles, ensuring a fun and memorable dining experience. You will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing quick, polite, and efficient service while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation. This position offers a unique experience for those who enjoy active work including skating (for Skating Carhops), and interacting with customers of all ages. A willingness to learn and work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays is essential. If you are a team player who thrives on variety, this role at SONIC will keep you energized with diverse responsibilities and the chance to earn excellent tips.
What you'll do
- Deliver food and beverages to guests ensuring product meets quality and presentation standards
- Provide friendly and efficient service while skating or walking to guest vehicles
- Assist guests with payment processing and make accurate change
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and report any concerns to management
- Clear trays, trash, and maintain cleanliness of patio, parking lot, and dining areas
- Perform food stock handling including lifting items up to 50 pounds
- Complete regular cleaning and sanitation duties such as mopping, sweeping, washing dishes, and sanitizing surfaces
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and appearance standards What we're looking for
- Effective verbal communication and customer service skills
- Basic math and reading abilities
- Ability to follow directions and work independently
- Capability to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to stand, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and skate or willingness to learn skating Nice to have
- Experience working in restaurant or retail environments
- Previous experience using a point-of-sale system
- Roller skating ability or willingness to complete skating training
- Multitasking skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
