Full job description

The Dry Market , Assistant General Manager, leads operations in the Retail Dry Market departments to meet company goals and standards in terms of sales and service. The Manager oversees labor, productivity, quality control, and safety measures to drive success.

Reports to the General Manager of Store Operations.

  • Manages the team: hires, schedules, delegates tasks, processes weekly payroll, provides training and motivation, and drives performance

  • Assists in creating and executing monthly promotion grids for saleable merchandise, adhering to Eataly’s policies

  • Maintains an orderly store appearance, ensuring only saleable merchandise is displayed; properly handles deleted, expired, and non-saleable items

  • Monitors inventory: places orders and requisitions as necessary; processes and unloads deliveries; generates monthly inventory and sales reports

  • Collaborates with the Marketing and Facilities departments on store layout and product placement

  • Assists the GM in analyzing financial data and developing strategies to enhance efficiency and drive sales

  • Maintains a visible presence on the floor, participating in and exemplifying exceptional guest service

  • Documents, investigates, and resolves employee and guest incidents

  • Processes and settles daily cash and credit transactions: documents overages and shortages; enters sales data and deposits; approves voids, employee discounts, returns, and exchanges

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

  • 1+ year of retail management experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Solid analytical skills

  • Experience with cash management, purchasing and managing inventory

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office The annual salary for this role ranges from $75,000k-80,000k range.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and spend up to 8 hours walking or standing in a retail environment
  • Ability to operate equipment such as a hand truck or cash register as needed
