Cook I, II:
Hiring Range $18.77 to $24.40
Summary of Job Responsibilities:
The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Cook is responsible for supporting kitchen and food service operations, including the preparation and delivery of meals, menu implementation, inventory management and purchasing support, training of kitchen staff, and enforcing food handling and sanitation guidelines. This position ensures meals are prepared according to menu specifications for dietary requirements, sanitation standards, and culturally appropriate practices across assigned programs
This position has two (2) levels designed to provide progressively more responsible and independent work experiences. Progression between job levels is based on the demonstrated ability to successfully handle more progressively responsible assignments.
Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma; OR GED.

Alaska Food Worker Card or current Food Service Worker’s permit as issued by appropriate authority.

One (1) year of experience in general food service environment.
Additional Qualifications for Cook II: Meets all requirements of Cook I in addition to the following:

Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent; OR three (3) years of experience in a commercial, healthcare, residential, or institutional food service setting; OR completion of a vocational training program in food preparation (i.e., Alaska Vocational Technical Center Culinary Arts Program; Alaska Job Corps Culinary Arts Pre-Apprentice, etc.).

One (1) year of experience in large-scale food preparation environment, which may be concurrent with other experience requirements.

First Aid/CPR certification acquired within six (6) months of hire date.
