Full job description

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Employee will be responsible for advising management and assisting them in the preparation of a variety of administrative and technical documents. Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. GS-05 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: - Experience utilizing a variety of office automation programs such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; - Experience maintaining alphabetical, numerical, and chronological office files and records; - Experience maintaining database information; or - Experience scanning and filing documents for future reference This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. GS-06 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: - Experience interpreting and applying regulations, policies and procedures; - Experience retrieving, updating and storing electronic and non-electronic data files; - Experience composing routine, technical and non-technical correspondence; and - Experience formatting documents and reports This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in any major field of study which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: - Experience using word processing, spreadsheet and database software to prepare documents and to enter, revise, manipulate, sort, calculate, store and retrieve data; - Experience performing clerical support duties such as preparing correspondence, maintaining and updating database records, and verifying accuracy of information and figures for reports; - Experience retrieving, updating and storing electronic data; and - Experience composing routine, technical and non-technical correspondence. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in any major field of study which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. This is a developmental position being filled at the GS-05, GS-06, or GS-07 levels. The full performance GS-07 level of this position entails the following duties: Establish internal controls to ensure compliance with regulations and policies. Establish priorities on matters pertaining to document control and file management. Organize, collect, analyze, and present information regarding records management. Review directorate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for consistency with appropriate regulations. Serve as a point of contact for civilian personnel matters. Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
