This is a part-time position with a maximum of 1,508 hours per year and is not eligible for paid holidays, leave, or benefits.
Job Description
This part-time driver is responsible for operating the County meal delivery truck to support the daily operations of the Home Delivered Meals Program. The incumbent will be reponsible for delivering prepared meals and other designated items directly to clients’ homes. Additionally, the driver will be assisting with packing, organizing, loading, and preparing meals and related items for delivery and ensure that deliveries are completed safely, accurately, and in a timely manner.
Essential Duties
Providing demand-response transportation for clients to and from designated locations, including medical appointments, pharmacies, post offices, senior centers, and other essential destinations Supporting special trips, including shopping excursions, field trips, and other senior center activities Assisting clients with safely entering and exiting the van/bus and providing escort assistance as needed Operating the County van and/or bus, wheelchair lift, as well as the two-way radio for purposes of providing transportation for clients to and from designated locations daily Collecting, recording, and posting contributions by clients for transportation and turning them into the supervisor Preparing and maintaining accurate records, as required Grade
The grade for this position is 97. The salary will be dependent on education and experience. Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or G.E.D. One year of experience driving a box truck or operating multi-passenger vehicles, or any combination Valid driver's license Preferred Qualifications
CPR certified (after employment) Defensive driving training (after employment)
Other Job Requirements/Information
This job requires a 50-pound lift test. This job is a safety-sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing. This job requires fingerprinting. Knowledge of the county roads and streets The ability to follow oral and written instructions Knowledge of Senior Services programs and services, major county and medical facilities, and related agencies
