Job Summary
As an Electrical/I&C Design Engineer at Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant, your role will be to provide engineering evaluations and documentation to support plant modifications and owning those plant changes which includes installation and closeout activities. In addition, you will be expected to investigate emergent equipment failures and provide creative solutions when applicable.
Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
-
Serving as a design qualified engineer in Electrical or I&C systems in support of plant design changes.
-
Providing solutions for Problem Solving, Decision Making, Troubleshooting.
-
Preparing technical engineering products: reports, evaluations, and design changes to the plant.
-
Developing and completing investigations and corrective actions in accordance with the Corrective Action Program.
-
Performing field walk-downs and interfacing with other groups to resolve emergent and routine plant issues.
-
Reviewing schedules and maintenance work orders to ensure efficient work implementation/scheduling.
-
Championing system design change improvements and enhancements.
-
Actively seeking formal and informal learning opportunities to better understand technical policies, practices, and procedures.

Develop effective working relationships with other departments and employees within you own work group to establish a professional network
Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Technical Engineering Field required (Electrical Engineering is preferred).
-
Minimum 6 yrs. relevant job experience.
-
Experience in Electrical and/or I&C systems is preferred.
-
Digital Experience desired.
-
Prior plant system engineering experience, including experience with electrical and I&C components is preferred.

Being able to work independently with little supervisory involvement is preferred.

Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Excellent interpersonal skills and strong analytical ability.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to make formal technical presentations to various management levels.
