SMCS-Sutter Med Center - Sacramento
Position Overview:
Aides in the overall organization of the Child Life Department, in addition to managing the volunteer program, oversees and providing experiences that are sensitive and appropriate to the developmental needs of all children. Provides daily support to the Child Life Program, through close collaboration with the entire child life team. Support includes managing all storage areas, on and offsite, ordering art and office supplies, monitoring stock and anticipating needs of the team. Keeps playrooms organized, consistent and geared toward the needs of hospitalized children and families, incorporating current research in the field of child life.

EDUCATION Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

HS Diploma CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE

BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:

1 years working with children and families. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of child growth and development and beginning understanding of effects of illness and hospitalization on children.

Knowledge in child development, psychology, education or similar field.

Ability to prioritize multiple demands independently in an ever-changing environment.

Ability to plan and implement recreational activities for individual children and groups of children.

Must be organized, with the ability to work independently.

Pay Range is $26.13 to $36.58 / hour
The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
