Job Description (General Summary)

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Production Control Supervisor to lead a team of 6–8 professionals responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of customer orders, production scheduling, and capacity planning. This role is critical to ensure on-time delivery and driving continuous improvement across operations.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Production Control team to ensure timely and accurate order processing, scheduling, and fulfillment aligned with customer delivery expectations.

  • Analyze production workflows and capacity constraints to identify bottlenecks and implement data-driven solutions that improve throughput and reduce lead times.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with production, planning, and inventory teams to identify process gaps and drive continuous improvement in order flow and prioritization.

  • Develop and maintain a dynamic production schedule that aligns with customer demand, resource availability, and operational constraints.

  • Establish supplier partnerships that enhance production flexibility and supplement in-house manufacturing efforts.

  • Communicate proactively with internal stakeholders and customers regarding delivery changes due to production delays, inventory shortages, or equipment issues.

  • Review and forecast customer demand for the Machine Shop, ensuring alignment with production capabilities and inventory planning.

  • Provide coaching and feedback to team members, conduct performance evaluations, and support career development in alignment with the Laitram Continuous Improvement Program.

  • Foster a culture of accountability and collaboration through clear communication, mentorship, and team engagement.

  • Partner with Manufacturing Supervisors and other stakeholders to support data-driven decisions related to labor allocation, equipment utilization, and process optimization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering and/or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, project management, or customer service leadership.

  • At least 2 years of direct supervisory experience.

  • Experience working in an ERP system, Oracle preferred

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and interpret complex data.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent organizational skills with a track record of successfully executing key initiatives.

  • Demonstrated structured and methodical approach to problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in manufacturing analysis or project management.

  • Familiarity with LEAN principles and their practical application.

  • Hands-on experience in machine shop, metal fabrication, or production environments.

  • Prior leadership in shipping, receiving, or production planning operations.

  • Experience with forecasting in a manufacturing or production environment
