Job Description
This role is responsible for monitoring, operating, and maintaining critical network infrastructure to ensure maximum availability and performance for customers. On a day-to-day basis, the Network Operations Engineer will configure and analyze customer circuits across optical and electro-optical multiplexers, routers, and switches while proactively monitoring network alarms through various network management tools. They will perform real-time circuit rerouting and redesign efforts to quickly restore connectivity during planned maintenance activities and unexpected outages. The engineer will collaborate closely with internal teams, external customers, government agencies, and higher-tier engineering groups to minimize mission and operational impacts. Responsibilities also include executing change management activities such as hardware replacements, software updates, and management, as well as documenting, tracking, escalating, and resolving service-impacting incidents through incident management systems. The role requires troubleshooting complex network issues and recommending solutions by leveraging expertise in technologies such as Cisco and Juniper networking, routers, switches, MSPP, routing protocols, and time division multiplexing environments.
Compensation:
$40hr to $45/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Employees in this role will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one of employment, including options for medical, dental, and vision insurance. Eligibility to enroll in the 401(k) retirement plan begins after 90 days of employment. Skills and Requirements
-Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of prior relevant experience
-Security+ CE or equivalent
-Able to work in a 24x7 shift work environment.
-Working knowledge of both Transport and IP network topologies.
-Must have an active TSSCI.
