Responsibilities Performs scheduling function in a high volume fully computerized environment.  Acts as a professional liaison for staff, other hospital personnel, medical staff, and physicians’ offices. Requires intimate knowledge of radiological or rehabilitation procedures, exam preparations, exam sequencing and other related functions within radiology; or required referrals and knowledge of caveats to all rehabilitation appointments types, specialties and coordination of care.  Additional skills required include typing, strong customer service and problem solving.

Qualifications REQUIRED

 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Medical terminology

  • Three (3) years of medical related clerical experience OR an Associate’s degree PREFERRED

 

  • Previous experience in hospital/medical office scheduling environment.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the use of the computerized scheduling system

  • Associate Degree

  • Experience interfacing with physician offices, other organization departments, and third-party payers.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with individuals in all levels of responsibility.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Prior experience in insurance precertification.

  • Demonstrated organizational and communication/customer service skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in utilization of computer application

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills

  • Previous experience as a Scheduler II or Scheduler/Secretary Work Hours: 8:00AM-4:30PM
