LOCATION:Pittsburgh Minadeo Elementary School in Pittsburgh, PA

PAY:$16.00 per hour

SCHEDULE: Follows the school calendar

Morning Program: 7:00 AM – 9:30 AM

Afternoon Program: 3:30 PM – 6:00 PM

Opportunities may be available for morning, afternoon, or both programs.

Position Responsibilities

  • Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.

  • Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.

  • Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.

  • Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.

Requirements

Education and Experience

Candidate must possessoneof the following:

  • Bachelor’s degreein early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field

  • Bachelor’s degreeincluding 30 credit hours in the above fieldsplus1 year of relevant experience

  • Associate’s degreein the above fieldsplus2 years of relevant experience

  • Associate’s degreeincluding 30 credit hours in the above fieldsplus3 years of relevant experience

  • Child Development Associate(CDA) credentialsplus2 years of relevant experience

Relevant experience includes:working with school-age children in after-school programs, summer camps, classrooms, or similar settings, including planning activities, supervising groups, and supporting social-emotional and academic growth.

Qualifications

  • 18 years of age

  • Must pass a full background check, including fingerprinting and reference checks

  • Must be medically fit to perform job duties which includes a clear TB.

  • Warm, friendly, professional, and reliable

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
