Full job description

Squirrel Hill Health Center is seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Assistant to join our care team. ​ The Medical Assistant will provide direct patient services in exam rooms, ensuring smooth patient flow and accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). ​ This role involves patient preparation, specimen collection, diagnostic testing, vaccine administration, prescription coordination, and collaboration with clinical and front office staff to deliver high-quality, team-based care. ​Must be available and willing to work in all SHHC locations.

Key Responsibilities: ​

  • Greet and escort patients to exam rooms. ​

  • Record vital signs, medical history, and other patient information in the EHR. ​

  • Perform lab tests, diagnostic procedures, and administer vaccines as directed. ​

  • Maintain clean, organized workspaces and exam rooms. ​

  • Collaborate with other departments to provide quality care.

  • Communicate effectively with patients, clinicians, and staff. ​

  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations. ​

Qualifications: ​

  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred. ​

  • Proficiency in computers, EHR systems, and medical equipment. ​

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT coding preferred. ​

  • CPR certification required. ​

  • Fluency in English; additional language skills preferred.

  • Must have all CDC-recommended immunizations.
