Description

Robert Half is partnering with a fast-growing employment law firm with great, tenured attorneys and staff. This firm is located in Woodland Hills.

The ideal candidate will handle a diverse caseload, primarily focused on single plaintiff matters, including wage and hour disputes, discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination claims. This role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment where innovation and client advocacy are at the forefront.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of 30-40 employment law matters independently, ensuring cases are handled efficiently and effectively.

  • Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.

  • Conduct settlement negotiations and represent clients in mediations.

  • Prepare for and lead depositions, including witness preparation and questioning.

  • Monitor and adhere to litigation deadlines while maintaining high-quality legal work.

  • Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and witnesses to provide updates and gather necessary information.

  • Perform thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategies.

  • Supervise and guide support staff and paralegals to ensure smooth case management.

  • Stay up-to-date with developments in employment law and apply insights to case strategies.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in civil litigation, particularly in employment law. Candidates with only two years of strong employment law experience will be considered.

  • Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently.

  • Strong skills in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.

  • Excellent negotiation skills, particularly in settlement discussions.

  • Experience preparing for and conducting depositions.

  • Solid understanding of wage and hour laws, discrimination claims, harassment cases, and wrongful termination matters.

  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.

  • Active license to practice law in the state of California.
