Job Summary: As a member of the MaineGeneral Express Care Team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering prompt and compassionate medical care to patients in non-emergent situations.

Job Description:

The Role: Express Care Registered Nurse (RN)

The Express Care Registered Nurse provides direct patient care in an urgent care setting using the nursing process, in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and the organization's policies, values, and mission.

The Opportunity:

MaineGeneral Health is currently seeking an exceptional Express Care Registered Nurse to join our team. MaineGeneral is a leading health care system that is proud of the culture of excellence, compassion, and collaboration that extends to our patients and their families.

The Work:

  • Assesses symptoms, determines acuity, identifies appropriate algorithm/protocol, and develops a treatment plan.

  • Provides professional advice, education, and options based on assessment, established algorithm/protocol, and clinical judgment. When appropriate, dispatch appropriate discipline personnel or emergency response unit.

  • Evaluate the learning needs of the patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

  • Performs administrative duties to coordinate patient care, including data collection, answering phones, scheduling tests/procedures and appointments, calling in prescriptions, and determining insurance coverage. Documents calls, responses, and referrals. Performs follow-up calls to evaluate the effectiveness of care and the need for additional care.

You Have:

  • Active Maine RN licensure or ability to obtain same in a timely fashion.

  • At least 1 year of RN experience is preferred.

  • Previous Express Care experience preferred.

  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • Proven and demonstrated critical thinking skills.

Compensation Information: $34.00 - $59.50

The hourly pay range shown represents the base pay range for this position. Individual pay is determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and market considerations. In addition to base pay, eligible team members may earn additional compensation through shift, weekend, holiday, on-call, and other applicable differentials.
