?? Gross Weekly Pay: Up to $1,280/week ($40/hour)

?? Setting: Elementary School | 1:1 Student Support

? Help Students Connect, Learn & Thrive

We're seeking passionate Educational Sign Language Interpreters to support deaf and hard-of-hearing students in an elementary school setting. In this role, you'll provide vital communication access and help students fully participate in classroom instruction, activities, and social interactions.

?? What You'll Do

  • Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa

  • Facilitate real-time communication between students, teachers, and peers

  • Support student learning and classroom participation

  • Assist with accommodations outlined in Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)

  • Maintain professional and ethical interpreting standards

  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to promote student success

? Qualifications

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Interpreting, Deaf Studies, or related field preferred

  • State Sign Language Interpreter Certification (if applicable)

  • EIPA Certificate preferred

  • RID or NIC Certification preferred

  • EIPA Score of 3+ preferred

  • Current CPR certification if applicable

  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language

  • Associates degree or Bachelors degree in interpreting, deaf studies or related field, preferred

  • State Board of Education Initial Sign Language Interpreter Certificate (as applicable)

  • Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) certificate (as applicable per state regulation or client requirement)

  • Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification ( as applicable per state regulation or client requirement)

  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

  • Current CPR if applicable

  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
