As a faculty member in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work, you will be expected to perform research, teaching, and service consistent with the standards of a Carnegie R1 university faculty member.

About the Department/School/Area:

The Sociology Program in the Department of SASW has 15 full-time faculty members as well as instructors, lecturers, and affiliated faculty. As one of the largest and fastest-growing undergraduate programs on campus, we offer bachelor's degrees in sociology and criminology in addition to a master's degree in sociology. We also have an innovative accelerated bachelor’s to master’s degree program that allows selected students to earn graduate credit while an undergraduate. Faculty Qualifications:

1. Ph.D. in Sociology or a highly related field from an appropriately regionally or nationally accredited university. If clarification is needed, please email the search chair.

2. A record of consistent effort in i) teaching excellence and ii) improving teaching and/or mentorship in higher education. Experience as a doctoral student may fulfill this criterion.

3. Research experience and publication record in the areas of environmental sociology.
