Job Title: Maintenance Technician Job Description

This role requires a dedicated Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and refurbishment of production equipment and facility systems within a plastics manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, safety-oriented, and capable of independently diagnosing issues, performing preventative maintenance, and minimizing equipment downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair 480V electrical systems, including point-to-point troubleshooting, continuity testing, fuse checks, and electrical component testing using multimeters and ohmmeters.

  • Maintain and repair thermoforming machinery, robots, automated production lines, and conveyor systems.

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical equipment failures and perform preventative maintenance, equipment rebuilds, and overhauls.

  • Maintain facility and utility systems, including HVAC equipment, air compressors, vacuum pumps, chillers, plumbing, lighting, and plant electrical systems.

  • Troubleshoot PLCs, including reading error codes and performing basic start/stop functions.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in troubleshooting and repairing 480V electrical systems.

  • Hands-on experience with thermoforming machinery, robots, and automated production lines.

  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical equipment failures.

  • Experience with facility maintenance including HVAC, air compressors, and lighting.

  • Basic PLC troubleshooting skills.

  • 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance.

  • Proficiency with hydraulics, pneumatics, and blueprint reading.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with soldering.

  • Self-motivated and safety-oriented mindset.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • 1 year of experience working on thermoforming machinery.

Work Environment

The work environment includes five 8-hour shifts per week, with a second shift from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Shift premiums start at 4:00 PM. All training occurs on the first shift, Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. The facility is climate-controlled, very clean, and equipped with state-of-the-art automation and robotics. There is flexibility to work 4-10 hour shifts, Monday through Thursday, with overtime available on Fridays.

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $66560.00/yr.
