Preferred (not required): Database Entry, Database Systems, Distributed Interactive Simulation, and High Level Architecture.

Job Description:

Database System Support Specialist

Join GDIT and the Joint Multinational Simulation Center - Pacific (JMSC-P) as a Database System Support Specialist for a career where your growth is just as important as the mission you support.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT:

  • Develops, modifies, validates, and sustains JLVC simulation databases by using VISTA

  • Apply simulation database standards, feature characterization, terrain attribution, and environmental data to ensure accurate representation

  • Integrate C2, order of battle, and other operational data sets into simulation platforms

  • Conduct comprehensive data validation, trouble shooting, and corrective actions to ensure simulation fidelity

  • Customize and optimize database structures to meet specific scenario and exercise requirements

  • Collaborate with scenario designers and exercise planners to ensure data supports training objectives

  • Assist with data formatting and import/export operations across all simulation platforms

  • Generate documentation and metadata for all database builds and modifications

  • Willing to learn, work as part of team, and as an individual with minimal guidance

  • Participates in other projects as required

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: AS/AA in a related technical discipline, OR the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training

  • Required Experience: 3+ years of related experience; MTC and military experience preferred

  • Required Technical Skills:

  • Working knowledge of JLVC federate systems (JDLM, JCATS, JMECS, EXCIS, etc.)

  • Basic knowledge of HLA and DIS standards

  • Ability to perform data entry, import/export, and format conversions within simulation platforms

  • Understanding of the JELC process

  • Knowledge of how to integrate C2 systems

  • Experience with importing LDIF

  • Working knowledge of Army War Fighting Functions

  • Certification: Comp TIA SEC+ certification required

  • Security Clearance Level: SECRET clearance is required with ability to obtain TS/SCI Clearance

  • Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Strong ability to identify and troubleshoot problems on assigned simulation drivers (JLVC/JCATS, etc.) (co-located and at remote sites)

  • Strong effective presentation and communication skills

  • Ability to manage time effectively to meet build schedules and exercise deadlines

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to lift 40lbs of equipment; ability to perform shift work of up to 12 hours with long periods of standing or walking

  • Location: On Customer Site / moderate travel required to other customer sites in the AoR

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $31.45 - $42.55. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
