Medical Assistant – Compton, CA
Location: Compton, CA
Pay Rate: $ 24.34/hour
Position Type: Contract
Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and patient-focused Medical Assistant to join a busy outpatient healthcare team in Compton, CA . The ideal candidate will have at least one year of Medical Assistant experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment. This role supports providers by delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring efficient clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality patient care through in-person, telephone, and electronic communication.

Room patients and prepare them for examinations and procedures.
-
Obtain and document vital signs, chief complaints, medication lists, allergies, health screenings, and other relevant patient information.

Assist physicians and nursing staff with injections, EKGs, phlebotomy, and other clinical procedures.
-
Coordinate patient care according to provider direction and organizational policies.
-
Manage patient calls, tasks, messages, and follow-up communications.

Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).

Prepare and clean exam rooms while ensuring infection prevention and control standards are followed.

Set up instruments and equipment for patient examinations and procedures.

Support the clinical team in delivering exceptional patient care and maintaining efficient clinic workflow.
Required Qualifications
-
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.

Minimum of one (1) year of Medical Assistant experience.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA), or willingness to obtain prior to hire.

Strong computer and EMR documentation skills.

Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

Ability to work effectively in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Pay Details: $24.34 per hour
