Hospitalist Advanced Practitioner (Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant)

Ellis Medicine is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Hospital Medicine team at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, New York.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Advanced Practitioner to become part of a well-established and collaborative Hospital Medicine program. The ideal candidate will be a confident, experienced clinician with strong multitasking and communication skills who thrives in a fast-paced inpatient setting and enjoys working closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members.

Position Highlights

  • Full-time Hospital Medicine position

  • Friday, Saturday, Sunday; or

  • Saturday, Sunday, Monday

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care to hospitalized patients

  • Perform patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and manage ongoing care

  • Collaborate with supervising physicians and healthcare team members

  • Participate in care transitions and discharge planning

  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and consulting services

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

  • Demonstrate leadership, clinical judgment, and independent decision-making within scope of practice

Qualifications

  • Current New York State Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license

  • DEA registration required

  • Board Certification required

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of NP or PA experience required

  • Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills

  • Prior Hospital Medicine experience preferred

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary range: $134,303-$158,572 annually, based on experience
