Summary

Role Overview : The Obstetrician/Gynecologist will provide clinical services in line with a broad obstetrics and gynecological scope of practice that includes inpatient Labor and Delivery coverage, inpatient gynecological service coverage (ER consults, emergency GYN surgery), gynecologic surgery, office obstetrics and gynecology, and women’s preventive care.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS : NOTE: Following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification.

  1. Contribute to our broader team of passionate obstetrics and gynecology health experts in designating Alameda Health System as a leader in equitable, just, high value reproductive healthcare.

  2. Participate in a collaborative, person-centered care model that is supported by our distinctions on California’s C-Section Honor Roll, Opioid Care Honor Roll, and as a Centering Pregnancy Approved site;

  3. Provide timely and quality surgical care to patients with gynecologic surgery needs, supported by subspecialists in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, Urogynecology, and Gynecologic Oncology;

  4. Train University of California, San Francisco medical students during their Obstetrics and Gynecology rotations.

  5. Collaborate with a team of Certified Nurse Midwives and Nurse Practitioners to support inpatient and outpatient services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Education: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) is required.

Required Licenses/Certifications: Current status as board-eligible or board-certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist

Required Licenses/Certifications: Possession of a valid license to practice medicine in the State of California.

Valid DEA license

Pay Range: Call Back Hours Day $193.17

Call Back Hours Night $215.03

The pay range for this position reflects the base pay scale for the role at Alameda Health System. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, and certifications, departmental equity, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and the operational needs of the organization. Alameda Health System also offers eligible positions a generous, comprehensive benefits program.

Additional Information

Note: Provide high quality, patient-centered care in outpatient and inpatient settings as required by the department. Inpatient care at Family Birthing Center/ labor and delivery approximately 43 hours per month. Inpatient rounds are approximately 18 hours per month. (GYN rounds and swing shift roles). Provide medical care to patients of all ages, including comprehensive gynecological, obstetrical and reproductive health services. Manage prenatal care, including high-risk obstetrics, point of care ultrasound and providing counseling on childbirth options. Maternal Fetal Medicine consultation is available. Diagnose and treat and manage common and complex gynecological conditions. Minimally Invasive GYN, Gynecology- Oncology and Urogynecology consultation is available. Provide care during labor and delivery, including urgent obstetrical care triage, in collaboration with Certified Nurse Midwives. Participate in hospital call-coverage for emergency and acute care consultations for obstetrical and gynecological care. Supervise and collaborate on patient care with Advanced practice providers and Certified Nurse Midwives.
