Full job description

M&A is one of the primary ways Kiteworks grows. The Corporate Development Analyst joins a small, hands-on team that runs the full process through deal close - strategy, planning, sourcing, valuation, diligence, negotiation, signing and closing. You'll work directly with our Chief Business Officer, Senior Manager, and Sr. Associate of Corporate Development on a pipeline of targets in AI, cybersecurity, compliance, and privacy.

Kiteworks is a highly profitable, and rapidly growing company, backed by Insight Partners and Sixth Street, in a sector where both expansion and consolidation are active. The team is intentionally lean, which means broad scope, direct work with senior leaders, and a fast feedback loop on the work you produce. You'll work on live transactions across all stages and help shape the materials that go to our CEO, executive team, investors, and the Board. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a high impact role in a leading private technology company that protects sensitive information and ensures privacy and compliance for the most critical and reputable organizations worldwide.

This is a hybrid role: at least three days a week in our San Mateo office, with occasional travel to meet target management teams.

What You'll Do

  • Holistically screen potential acquisition opportunities for compatibility with the company’s inorganic growth strategy

  • Develop and maintain detailed financial and operational models, as well as other analyses on prospective acquisition targets

  • Contribute to due diligence of target companies by reviewing materials, augmenting and maintaining question lists, building agendas for calls, etc.

  • Draft written reports and presentations on Corporate Development team activity for audiences including the executive team, investors, investment bankers, and Board of Directors

  • Proactively maintain the Corporate Development pipeline by tracking activities, calls, and KPIs on potential targets.

  • Build dashboards and AI agents to analyze, track, and report on relevant market developments including competitive behavior, fundraising, and investment activity

  • Improve existing systems and processes by leveraging AI automation tools

  • Protect confidential business information and partner data, ensuring secure sharing practices and compliance with data protection agreements and ISO 27001 controls. What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree; finance, accounting, economics, or a technical field – a plus

  • 2+ years of relevant transaction, investment, M&A or finance-related experience, including exposure to evaluating technology businesses. Backgrounds may include investment banking, private equity, venture capital, venture debt, corporate development, transaction advisory, strategic finance / FP&A or consulting with significant M&A or diligence exposure.

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel and advanced financial modeling

  • Hands-on experience building AI Agents and AI-driven workflows

  • Self-motivated with a proactive, “can-do” approach, intellectually curious, and comfortable operating without constant direct supervision The Values That Define Us
