Software Engineer at QED Technologies Europe
Location: Delft Hours: 32–40 per week Education Level: Master’s degree (WO)
This position requires that the individual be permanently authorized to work in Delft, Netherlands and will not require employer sponsorship, now or in the future. Please only apply if you have permanent work authorization to work in Delft, Netherlands.
Join QED Technologies Europe and work on software that powers some of the world’s most precise optical measurement systems. In this role, you combine hands-on software engineering with real-world machine interaction, contributing directly to high-impact applications in semiconductor manufacturing and astronomy. You’ll have the opportunity to shape the next generation of our software platform in close collaboration with our US-based parent company.
What you will do
As a Software Engineer, you are part of the Software & Controls team within the Development & Engineering department. You work in a multidisciplinary environment where software, physics, and mechatronics come together.
Your key responsibilities:

Develop robust software that enables customers to operate high-precision machines effectively

Work across the full software stack, with an initial focus on integrating existing systems into the QED platform

Collaborate with colleagues in the Netherlands and the United States on architecture and implementation

Contribute to improving and extending the functionality of existing systems

Test and validate your software directly on machines in a hands-on environment

Salary between €4,000 – €4,700 gross per month (based on experience)

What you bring
You are a pragmatic and structured Software Engineer who enjoys working in a multidisciplinary, hands-on environment. You communicate clearly, collaborate easily, and like to see your work come to life in real machines.
Your profile includes:

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, or a related engineering field
-
3–5 years of experience in software development
-
Strong experience with C# (preferred) or Java
-
Experience with MVVM frameworks (e.g., WPF)
-
Willingness to work with (and maintain) WinForms
-
Excellent command of English (spoken and written)
Nice to have:
-
Experience in multidisciplinary environments (hardware + software)
-
Familiarity with .NET Framework and .NET Core
