POSITION SUMMARY
New Flyer is looking for a skilled and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise in the manufacturing processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize production processes, improve efficiency, and ensure product quality. This position is for our weekend shift.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods and processes.
Analyze and plan workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
Collaborate with design engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
Conduct time studies and motion analysis to optimize production efficiency.
Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to improve process capabilities.
Prepare and maintain detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.
Develop and implement process control techniques and procedures into manufacturing environments.
Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and provide technical support to production teams.
Conduct root cause analysis for production problems and implement corrective actions.
Prepare and maintain accurate documentation for manufacturing processes and procedures.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce costs.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
3 + years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for layout and design.
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
Experience with time studies, motion analysis, and workflow optimization.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues.
Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
