Hours: 12 hour shifts
Location : Southern Regional Medical Center Riverdale, Georgia
We are seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist , also referred to as our Respiratory Care Practitioner I (RCP I) . The Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) is someone who carries out respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as directed by the medical and cardiopulmonary directors, based on physician orders. They focus on assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting care while considering the specific needs of patients based on age and population . This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/ PRN as needed .
Responsibilities

Will provide treatments such as inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications to help patients breathe more easily

C onduct tests like pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis to assess lung capacity and gas exchange in patients

S et up, monitor , and adjust ventilators and other life-supporting equipment for patients who cannot breathe independently

May be part of a rapid response team in emergencies, which you will provid e airway management, perform intubations, and resuscitat e patients in critical situations

A ssess patients' respiratory status, monitor their progress, and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed

E nsure that all respiratory equipment is properly cleaned , sterilized, and maintained to prevent infections and ensure patient safety
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.

Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or obtained within three (3) months of hire.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.

Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification upon hire and maintain current.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire.

Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate is preferred.

Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.

Two (2) years of acute care experience is preferred.
