About the Position: This position is located at The Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Basic Requirement for Pharmacist: Education: A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)Exemption: You are exempt from the basic requirement above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0660 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before. Note: You will be required to provide appropriate documentation to the respective Human Resources Office to validate your status. Licensure: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, a territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia. (Note: You must attach a copy of your license.) Medical Requirement: Must be able to distinguish basic colors. Experience: One year of professional pharmacy experience that includes preparing medications, providing patient counseling, and monitoring the dispensing of pharmaceuticals. Experience in Leapfrog and Antimicrobial Stewardship preferred. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Serve as a Medication Safety Pharmacist in direct support of the provision of healthcare to patients of the Medical Treatment facility. Serve as an expert on medication safety, pharmaceuticals, pharmacokinetics and pharmacotherapeutics. Serve as a liaison between pharmacy, nursing, medical staff, and other healthcare professionals in order to ensure safe and standardized medication use processes. Coordinates activities, leads staff, and manages systems related to medication safety to ensure that the medication use process meets or exceeds the reasonable expectations of patients and staff. Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
