BROAD FUNCTION
The Assistant Director of Technology Support Services plays a leadership role in providing technical and operational support for Onondaga Community College's information technology systems, with a focus on end user computing including desktop, help desk, and related support services.
This position works within the ITS leadership team to ensure a highly reliable and secure environment that enables academic, administrative, and student computing.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide high quality technical, analytical, and operational services in support of campus technology support services, system design and end user computing support including:

Desktop, laptop, and mobile device support;
-
Help Desk operations and end user support services;
-
Serve as primary level two ITS support for assigned technology support applications and tools as needed.

Provide technical and operational analysis, problem solving, documentation and solution implementation.

Work collaboratively with campus departments and users to provide effective and timely communication and technical support.

Identify and implement technical support tasks, ensuring that multiple areas of IT are working in a coordinated, team-focused manner.

Provide input to the IT leadership team regarding project planning and management, act as project manager for projects as assigned. Develop project plans including scope, requirements, scheduling, budget, and resource assignment.

Effectively represent the College when interacting with third party suppliers, vendors, and hosting providers.

Provide recommendations for technology and business process improvements and implement as directed.

Track and manage inventory and lifecycle replacement plan.
-
Assist with budget planning and management for technology support services, including procurement and lifecycle replacement expenditures.
-
May supervise staff within the ITS department.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college, university or foreign equivalency and 5 years of work experience in Information Technology

Demonstrated project management experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with higher education business processes and enterprise information systems

Supervisory Experience

Bilingual in Spanish & English. Bilingual in English and other languages will be considered.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Project management skills and experience with software development methodology, including workflow and business process modeling

Demonstrated skill and ability with information technology systems.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to maintain and communicate knowledge of emerging technologies

Additional Information:

Salary range is: $64,420 - $80,526, commensurate with credentials and relevant experience.
