Homewatch Caregivers is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide non-medical, in-home care to adults with intellectual disabilities. The role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their safety, and helping them achieve personal goals. The ideal candidate will be kind, compassionate, empathetic, patient, and possess strong communication skills.

Key focus areas include Supervise and assist client in safely preparing meals and ensuring proper nutrition, Assist with all ADLs, including bathing, dressing, toileting (incontinence care), brushing teeth etc., and Interact and engage with client as much as he will allow.

Successful candidates bring Reliable Transportation and Current Tuberculosis (PPD) Test. Preferred (not required): Kindness, Compassion, Empathy, and Patience.

Homewatch Caregivers® is a non-medical, in-home care agency. We provide unique care to adults of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities in the comfort and safety of their preferred residence. We are currently seeking a female DSP who is kind, compassionate, and has experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Those with intellectual disabilities may struggle to recognize and/or express their needs and emotions, causing them to become agitated. An empathetic, patient individual with an open mind and strong communication skills would be an ideal fit for this population.

HOURS NEEDED MONDAY-FRIDAY 8a-2p

Responsibilities/Job Duties

  • Supervise and assist client in safely preparing meals and ensuring proper nutrition.

  • Assist with all ADLs, including bathing, dressing, toileting (incontinence care), brushing teeth etc.

  • Interact and engage with client as much as he will allow

  • Make frequent checks to ensure safety

  • Assist with light housekeeping

  • Help client identify and achieve various goals

Required to Apply
