Medical Assistant (3077) CCOH - Westheimer Main - Katy, TX 77450 Overview Position Type Full Time Job Shift Day Education Level High School Diploma/GED Travel Percentage Up to 10% Category Other Positions Description US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Assistant to join our team at Cardiology Center of Houston in Katy, TX
Responsibilities:
- Greet and prepare patients for cardiac evaluations and office visits.
- Record and verify patient medical history and vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation, weight, height, etc.).
- Performs electrocardiograms (EKGs), Holter monitor setup, and stress test preparation (as trained).
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider.
- Maintain exam rooms, ensure cleanliness, and stock supplies.
- Ensure patients are roomed in a timely manner.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Accurately document all clinical information in eCW system.
- Process cardiac clearances and prior authorizations.
- Manage inbound and outbound calls, including prescription refill requests and patient questions.
Requirements:
- Certified Medical Assistant required • Cardiac Experience
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience
- Experience performing EKGs, stress test preparation and patient education preferred.
