Job Description This position is responsible for entry level non-skilled general labor while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

All positions can include responsibility for cutting clips from finished, operating a Multivac, filling boxes, and stacking boxes of finished product. In addition, this position moves the product as needed and removes racks. The person who holds this position will have to label and date boxes. Responsible for packaging machines. In addition, this person will ensure materials are needed to and from the production line to produce and pack product. This person will also set up, run, and clean equipment.                                                                      

Position Summary:

This position will be responsible for the set up and tear down of casing, hang sausage, and links.

Responsibilities:

  • Rotate around the table and complete all jobs on the stuffing tables including:

  • Set up and tear down casing table.

  • Flush casings onto horns.

  • Move up to 40 pounds of casings from casing runner to stuffing table.

  • Pull coils out of turntable.

  • Break and fix holes/tie knots to best utilize casings.

  • Match coils for hangars to get 14-16 loops per stick.

  • Twirl, pick up, and hang sausage and links at rate prescribed by Industrial Engineering and as specified by Quality Control.

  • Setup machines for stuffing tables.

  • Ability and willingness to perform basic math functions (i.e.: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

  • Ability and willingness to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.

  • Ability and willingness to complete all paperwork and SAP functions.

  • Ability and willingness to enter data, print, read and comprehend information in SAP.

  • Keep area clean

  • Empty gut pans into edible or inedible tanks.

  • Observe all quality specifications.

  • Maintain general manufacturing practices.

  • Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF requirements.

  • Perform all positions of job rotation as needed.

  • Perform any other work as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability and willingness to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level minimum of 20 pounds frequently.

  • Ability and willingness to use both hands to perform various tasks.

  • Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with rapid hand and eye coordination to move product on a conveyor and/or other processing equipment.

  • Ability and willingness to stand/walk/climb/bend for up to 10 hours.

  • Ability and willingness to flex/grip with wrist/hands frequently.

  • Ability and willingness to work in wet conditions and cold temperatures at 35 degrees.

  • Ability and willingness to distinguish between shades and/or colors.
