Position Summary

Supervises personnel and coordinates activities to control product quality, throughput and resolve product quality issues. Investigate and report on product quality, product complaints and other defined business metrics.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Establishes and/or adjusts work schedules and procedures and assigns workload to meet schedules.

  • Assures that inspection procedures are being followed to verify conformance to specifications.

  • Generates inspection instructions from drawings, interprets specifications and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.

  • Maintains quality control records, certifications, calibration and material review records.

  • Issues reports with interpretations and recommendations.

  • Acts as a liaison for quality control with SQE’s, suppliers and customers to assure control of quality for incoming and outgoing items.

  • Trains employees to efficiently and effectively perform job function.

  • Recommends measures to improve inspection methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department.

  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.

  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.

  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.

  • Ensures proper level gauging by estimating number needed, requisitioning or repairing.

  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.

  • Supervise quality and calibration technicians as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervises employees of the Quality Control department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing

Position Requirements

Five years’ experience in mechanical inspection using open set-ups; two to four years’ experience in quality control. AAS degree or equivalent experience preferred.
