Full job description

the Order Selector safely and efficiently receives and distributes products, materials, tools, and equipment as directed.

Position Responsibilities

  • Promote Safety as the Number One priority of all employees.

  • Read customer orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.

  • Safely convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.

  • Sort and place materials or items on racks and shelves according to a pre-determined sequence such as size, type, or product code.

  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or convey orders to the packing station or shipping department.

  • Marks materials with identifying information.

  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.

  • Weigh or count items for distribution to ensure conformance with Company standards.

  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 3 – 5 years’ forklift experience in a warehouse and/or shipping and receiving environment preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and work orders.

  • Ability to perform simple mathematical equations, using a basic calculator and scales.

  • Ability to operate a fork truck within reasonable speeds and safely in a congested warehouse environment.

  • Team-oriented approach with a desire to work in a hands-on capacity.

  • Positive attitude, good judgment, and excellent time management skills.

  • Strong sense of responsibility and ownership.

  • Positive can-do attitude.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to mount/dismount forklift utilizing three points of contact (two hands and one foot).

  • Manual material handling involving the need to grip, squeeze, and pinch.

  • The position requires the ability to regularly stand for long periods of time.

  • Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and regularly lift/push/pull/carry up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to complete all essential job functions listed in the position responsibilities, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Pay Details: $21.00 per hour
