Job Title: Maintenance Electrician Job Description
The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in a fast-paced steel fabrication manufacturing environment. This role supports production operations by ensuring that electrical machinery, controls, and facility systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. The Maintenance Electrician works closely with production teams, maintenance personnel, and external vendors to minimize downtime and maintain continuous plant operations.
Responsibilities

Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment.

Support production operations to ensure electrical machinery, controls, and facility systems operate safely and efficiently.

Work closely with production teams, maintenance personnel, and external vendors to minimize downtime.

Diagnose electrical issues and replace defective components such as wiring, motors, breakers, relays, or control devices using appropriate tools and instruments.
Essential Skills
-
Minimum 3–5 years of industrial maintenance electrical experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, steel processing, or heavy industrial environment.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, motor controls, VFDs, PLCs, power distribution systems, and industrial automation equipment.

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.

Experience using electrical testing and troubleshooting equipment.
-
Working knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and industrial safety standards.

Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team in a production environment.

Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
-
Journeyman Electrician license preferred; equivalent industrial electrical experience considered.

EE98J certification is advantageous.
