Sleep Surgery Faculty at Stanford School of Medicine OHNS Department

The Division of Sleep Surgery in the Department of Otolaryngology — Neck Surgery at Stanford University seeks a board-certified or board-eligible otolaryngologist or oral and maxillofacial surgeon with fellowship training in sleep surgery or sleep medicine (or the equivalent) to join the Division as an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor in the University Medical Line. We are particularly interested in candidates who have an established or emerging program of funded research.

• The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the University Medical Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

Faculty rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

The successful applicant should have an MD or DDS, or equivalent. They must be a board-certified or board-eligible otolaryngologist or oral and maxillofacial surgeon with fellowship training in sleep surgery or sleep medicine (or the equivalent).

We expect the successful candidate to build an independent, externally funded research program in sleep surgery — spanning translational and clinical trial research, upper-airway neurostimulation, sleep endo-phenotyping, and the application of data science in sleep medicine. The successful candidate would be expected to devote roughly 40% effort to research, 50% to clinical care, and 10% to teaching/administration.

The expected base pay range for this position is:

Assistant Professor: $317,000 – $329,000

Associate Professor: $349,000 - $361,000

Professor: $382,000 - $388,000

It does not include all components of the School of Medicine’s faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
