Full job description

Akima is seeking an experienced Production Control Clerk to support the 53rd Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Maintenance Team. The Production Control Clerk is responsible for coordinating and tracking maintenance production activities, compiling and maintaining production data, and ensuring maintenance records are accurate, complete, and compliant with applicable Army and company requirements. This position serves as the primary liaison between maintenance personnel, customers, and management to facilitate efficient workflow, improve readiness, and deliver exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Compile, record, maintain, and analyze production and maintenance data to support daily operations.

  • Track work orders from receipt through completion, ensuring timely processing and accurate documentation.

  • Monitor production schedules and maintenance status to improve efficiency and reduce equipment downtime.

  • Maintain maintenance records in accordance with Army regulations, contract requirements, and company policies.

  • Prepare recurring and special reports on production volume, work order status, quality control metrics, and equipment readiness.

  • Coordinate with supervisors, mechanics, quality assurance personnel, and customers to prioritize maintenance actions.

  • Review work orders for completeness, accuracy, and proper coding before closure.

  • Ensure maintenance documentation is entered accurately into automated maintenance management systems.

  • Monitor parts status, maintenance delays, and production bottlenecks, providing recommendations for process improvements.

  • Assist with scheduling preventive maintenance services, inspections, and recurring maintenance requirements.

  • Support inventory accountability and equipment status reporting as required.

  • Maintain electronic and hard-copy records in accordance with records management requirements.

  • Respond professionally to customer inquiries regarding maintenance status and estimated completion times.

  • Participate in quality assurance reviews and internal audits.

  • Perform other administrative and production control duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of administrative, clerical, maintenance support, logistics, or production control experience

  • Experience using the Equipment Performance and Readiness System (EPRS), GCSS-Army, or other automated maintenance management systems is preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of Army maintenance work order processes and repair parts ordering procedures.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

  • Ability to accurately create, update, and close maintenance work orders while maintaining complete and accurate electronic records.

  • Ability to order repair parts, track parts status, and coordinate with maintenance personnel and supply activities to support timely equipment repairs.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced maintenance environment.

  • Excellent attention to detail and data entry accuracy.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work professionally with government personnel, customers, supervisors, and maintenance technicians.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team while providing exceptional customer service.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain installation access and any required government credentials in accordance with contract requirements.

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Trained and certified in the ERPS clerk function in GCSS-Army (AR 750-8 & AR 750-1).Experience with GCSS-Army.

  • Training in Military Occupation CMF 92A Production Control MOS series or equivalent military/commercial experience.

  • Experience supporting U.S. Army maintenance operations Physical Requirements / Working Environment:

  • Work conditions are primarily standard office environments with minimal physical discomfort.
