Role: Free RTOS Device Driver Development Engineer Role

Overview As a Staff Free RTOS & Real Time Systems Engineer, you will act as a technical authority for real time embedded software based on Free RTOS and related RTOS environments. You will drive architecture, ensure deterministic behavior, and solve the most complex Real time latency, timing, and concurrency critical problems across hardware and software layers. This role requires deep expertise in real time scheduling, interrupts, and low level embedded systems, with ownership spanning SoC bring u p, firmware, drivers, and RTOS integration. Experience working alongside Linux or virtualized systems is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities•

Develop and maintain Free RTOS-based applications, I/O drivers and system services

  • Deep expertise in task scheduling, prioritization, interrupt handling and latency control

  • Work with synchronization primitives including mutexes, semaphores and queues

  • Design deterministic systems meeting hard and firm real-time requirements

  • Customize and extend Free RTOS for platform-specific needs

  • Work closely with hardware to enable timers, interrupt controllers and DMA engines

  • Bring up Free RTOS on new SoCs and boards

  • Debug real-time issues related to cache, memory and bus contention

  • Collaborate with firmware and silicon teams on real-time constraintsPreferred Skills• Experience with SoC bring-up or platform enablement

  • Background in Hard and Soft Real-time systems

  • Familiarity with x86 embedded platforms

  • Experience collaborating with Linux or virtualization teams

  • Contributions to RTOS or embedded open-source projects

  • Expert proficiency in C and debugging methodologies.
