Job Description

Job Description: Prepare and review financial statements for U.S. subsidiary and affiliated companies in compliance with U.S. GAAP and Japanese GAAP; ensure adherence to J-SOX internal control requirements and Japanese financial disclosure regulations applicable to publicly traded companies; Analyze monthly financial data, monitor budgets and cash flows, reconcile accounts payable and receivable, and prepare analytical reports for management; Evaluate and improve internal control systems to ensure compliance with corporate standards; implement process automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations; and Conduct financial analysis of potential M&A targets, assess corporate value and credit risks, and prepare detailed reports for management review.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Employment Experience: 24 months as accountant or related occupation.

  • Special Skills: Japanese fluency required to read and interpret Japanese financial disclosure regulations and J-SOX compliance requirements, and to collaborate with the Japanese parent company's accounting team on consolidated financial reporting.

  • Alternative: In the alternative of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field and 24 months of work experience as accountant or related occupation, the employer will accept a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Travel: Approximately 6–7 times per year (4–5 domestic out-of-state trips to California and 2–3 international trips to Japan and Canada), with each trip lasting about one week.
